Farnham Common Community Library closed its doors on January 10 this year to undergo a huge renovation – its first since its opening in the 1970s. Over the last month, a 20-strong team of volunteers helped to move over 9,000 books and all the furniture into storage. The project is expected to last four weeks, with the building due to reopen on Saturday, February 14, at 11 am. Anne Hegerty, one of the quizzers on the popular TV game show ‘The Chase’, will conduct the ribbon-cutting. The building will consist of a new study area, flooring/carpets, blinds, a counter tops, tables, desks and chairs.
