According to the SABC, Education authorities estimate that hundreds of learners remain without confirmed school placements. ADVERTISEMENTThe 2026 school year began in the Western Cape – and around the country – on Wednesday, 14 January, over weeks ago now. “The department will also analyse school enrolment numbers to determine where there may be opportunities to place additional learners,” she said.
