A Bulgarian national wanted by Romanian authorities for drug trafficking was allegedly working as a personal trainer at a Cape Town Virgin Active gym. Despite this, he was working as a “senior personal trainer” at the upmarket Cape Town gym until this week. The case of the Constantia gym personal trainer wanted by InterpolStamenov’s profile on Interpol’s Red Notice list. Virgin Active confirmed on Monday, 26 January 2026, that Stamenov had been suspended after questions were put to the company. Virgin Active said it was assessing whether the trainer was indeed the individual wanted in connection with criminal matters abroad.
