BASSETERRE – Eight outstanding citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis received the Medal of Honour on Wednesday in recognition of their exceptional contributions to nation building, with awards presented by Governor-General Her Excellency Dame Marcella Liburd. Pastor Clive Saunders was recognized for community service and religion, while Etsu Bradshaw-Caines received the medal for community service. The business community saw two of its leaders honored, with Lennox Walters and Washington Fraites receiving medals for business and entrepreneurship. Meredith Charles was recognized for contributions to security and defence, while Trevor Huggins and Stedroy Douglas were honored for sports and community service. Dr. Terrance Drew delivered remarks at the ceremony, congratulating the recipients on receiving “one of the nation’s highest honours.”The Medal of Honour represents the Federation’s highest recognition for citizens who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and service across various fields including religion, healthcare, business, security, and sports.
