A local government body have expressed disappointment at a delay to the reintroduction of social rent convergence. In a policy paper. Under rent convergence, which was previously government policy between 2002 and 2015, social landlords are able to increase rents on properties that are currently let at a lower rate than they would be to a new tenant. The convergence is part of a new package of measures designed to support councils and others to build more social homes.
