McDonald’s has sparked controversy by announcing that it will be discontinuing 80% of its vegetarian options in the UK. Four products — Veggie Dippers, Veggie Dipper Happy Meals, Spicy Veggie Wraps, and the Vegetable Deluxe sandwich — will no longer be available. The vegan McPlant Burger will be the only remaining meat-free option. However, McDonald’s has hinted that it is looking at other markets to determine which vegetarian and vegan products are the most popular, and may explore some new meat-free options in the future. “We’re always listening to our customers to help inform and evolve our menu,” said a McDonald’s spokesperson.
