Nature offers a sense of continuity and grounding, something stable to return to while imagining alternative futures,” says Amutse. “In contrast to dominant contemporary images of Africa and Namibia, which are often framed through narratives of limitation, crisis or development, the worlds I create resist urgency and spectacle. The Namibian uses AI tools to assist with improved quality, accuracy and efficiency, while maintaining editorial oversight and journalistic integrity.
