Rose Lodge, located on Carers Way, Cobblers Lane in Newton Aycliffe, received a requires improvement rating following an assessment by the Care Quality Commission carried out from September 25 to November 3, 2025. Rose Lodge provides accommodation and personal care for up to 54 people, some living with dementia. Despite these issues, staff at Rose Lodge were recruited safely and had appropriate checks in place. Residents told inspectors that they felt safe living at Rose Lodge and with the staff. One resident said: “Everybody here makes me feel safe.” Another said: “It’s alright living here, staff are good.”A spokesperson from Maria Malaband Care, which owns Rose Lodge, said: “Following a Care Quality Commission inspection at Rose Lodge Care Home in Newton Aycliffe, we have taken immediate action to ensure the ongoing safety and wellbeing of people living in the home.
