Speaking of supporting young minds, efforts to safeguard their mental health are also taking centre stage. The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region is scaling up efforts to integrate mental health and psychosocial support into its peacebuilding initiatives, stressing the need to address trauma caused by decades of conflict in some member states, as delegates from 12 countries meet in Kampala to discuss how to mainstream these interventions into national policies and development priorities.
