United States President Donald Trump told the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that the carbon footprint is a “hoax.”While delivering his speech at the high-level General Debate in New York, Trump scoffed at climate change. ADVERTISEMENTThe US president claimed that the carbon footprint was created “by people with evil intentions” and that they are on a “path of total destruction.” He used the opportunity to cast aspersions on former US President Barack Obama. He talked about the carbon footprint we must reduce, and then he’d fly from Washington to Hawaii to play a round of golf, and then he’d get back onto that big beautiful plane and talk again about global warming and the carbon footprint,” said Trump. “IT’S A CON JOB”The US president also described the carbon footprint as a “con job”, saying China and other countries “thriving around China” produce more carbon dioxide than developed nations. He also mocked renewable energy, saying “windmills are pathetic.”ADVERTISEMENTWHAT DID YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THE UNGA HIGH-LEVEL GENERAL DEBATE?
