A Russian boat has been tracked by Britain's Royal Navy amid concerns over it spending 14 hours near the sea sharing data cables in the Bristol Channel. Conservative shadow security minister Alicia Kearns said: 'The movements of this Russian ship are deeply suspicious, right over our transatlantic deep-sea data cables. A Royal Navy frigate and RAF P-8 reconnaissance planes were deployed to monitor and track the Yantar's moves, and to capture infrared photographs. 'Every time a Russian ship comes near the UK, the Navy is ready to track, deter, and defend.' 'They are mapping our undersea cables, our networks and our pipelines — and those of our allies.'
