A pub goer has denied 'showing off' after allegedly pouring fuel onto a tabletop heater which 'exploded' and left two women with serious burns. Carter and two cousins, April and Ashleigh Charlesworth, were left in hospital after a flammable liquid bottle used to relight a heater on their table 'exploded'. He is accused of adding fuel to the heater and causing the explosion, but denies two offences of inflicting grievous bodily harm. Mr Clark told Carter he was 'showing off' at the time when he added fuel to the heater a second time. Mr Charlesworth then produced the liquid fuel heater and lit it using ethanol, although it was putting out little heat.
