Last week, it was confirmed that prostate cancer is now the most common cancer in the UK. Some 64,425 men were diagnosed with the disease in 2022, compared with 61,640 for breast cancer, which had previously been the most common cancer. Yet we still don’t have a national screening programme. Prostate cancer is often called a “couple’s cancer”, which is so true. I find it hard to understand why the Government is so against a national screening programme.
