Coroner Michelle Brown told the inquest there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and there will be no prosecution. She said: “On December 28, this 66-year-old gentleman was a pilot of a light aircraft which crashed into the Hanningfield Reservoir. “Police divers recovered his body on December 30 and death was confirmed at this time by a police sergeant at 1pm. “Following a post-mortem examination, the provisional cause of death is 1A, pending toxicology. “There has been no request either from Essex Police or the air investigation branch to suspend this case.
