Organisers, the Historic Commercial Vehicle Society say use of the cattle market site in Skipton as the finish point means they have been able to created a scenic route across the Pennines as well as make use of the facilities at the auction mart site. The society is also joining forces with the Keighley-based West Yorkshire Heritage Transport Trust which is planning to run a vintage bus service between the cattle market and Skipton town centre. The Historic Commercial Vehicle Society was the first of its kind when it was set up in 1958. It is the largest organisation for historic van, lorries, buses, military and steam vehicles and represents historic commercial vehicles of all types whether owners are members of the society, or not. The West Yorkshire Transport Heritage Trust is due to open its premises in Parson Street, Keighley, on April 26.
