Jamui: In a shocking incident, a retired civil surgeon and his family were sedated at gunpoint and robbed of cash and jewellery worth approximately Rs 50 lakh in a daring early-morning heist at their residence in Jamui.
According to the news reports, the robbers reportedly broke into the house of Dr Vijayendra Satyarthi and held him, his wife, and their son hostage at gunpoint.
The robbers allegedly injected the family with sedatives incapacitate them before carrying out the robbery.
He lost consciousness after they injected him, and his wife and son were also given injections by the robbers.
Speaking to Patna Press, Sub-Inspector Jayprakash Singh of Giddhaur police station said all family members are stable and being treated at the hospital.
