Commander of Regional Division #6, Assistant Commissioner Shiv-persaud Bacchus has confirmed the hospitalisation of Police Constable Stefon Chinapen following a three-vehicle collision on the Palmyra Public Road, East Canje, Berbice. Chinapen was riding his recently purchased motorcycle when the accident occurred at about 8 am on the Palmyra Public Road. Investigations have so far revealed that a car – PKK 1010 – driven by Ashton Seegobin, 35, of Lot 1 Seawell, Palmyra, East Canje, Berbice, was proceeding west along the public road then turned south into Percy Smith Street. He then collided head-on with another car – PAE 9749 – driven by Yashmine Mannu. As a result of the collision, the driver of PAE 9749 lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole.
