-in the aftermath of strike over wages, conditionsFollowing strikes in November and December last year, Aurora Gold Mines Inc (AGM) yesterday formalised a two-year Collective Labour Agreement with the National Association of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE). The agreement was signed at the Aurora Gold Mine in Region Seven in the presence of Labour Minister Keoma Griffith, representatives of the company, union officials, and workers, and will cover approximately 450 employees. Speaking on behalf of the workers, Frank Reece described the signing as a major achievement, noting that the agreement provides improved wages, benefits, and protections for employees operating at the large-scale mining operation. The agreement will run for two years and introduces several financial and welfare benefits, including double overtime pay for work done on Sundays and public holidays. Workers will also benefit from eight sick days per year, which will be paid out if not utilised, along with bereavement leave provisions.
