Pleasant’s City Commission unanimously approved $30 million in revenue bonds to update water treatment facility.
While an update of the city’s water treatment plant is already underway, replacing equipment from the mid-1990s, plans for a separate update for a facility named “The Island” were brought in front of the city’s commissioners earlier this week.
The loan is part of the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).
It’s low-interest, but there was worry from the commission that approving the bonds would increase water bills.
“Water bills have already ramped-up a little in anticipation of this,” Moore said.
