A destructive bushfire that sent flames soaring higher than trees and properties has been downgraded, but authorities warn a threat to lives and homes remains. Residents in Ellenbrook, in Perth’s north, were told to flee as the fast-moving and out-of-control blaze took hold just before 3pm.
