Santander confirmed the closure of 44 branches across the country, which could put around 291 jobs at risk. Meanwhile, the Golders Green outlet will close in May alongside the branches in Newton Abbot, Stafford, Banbridge, Liskeard, and Shirley. Other branches are set to shut down sooner, with Berwick-upon-Tweed, Boston, Evesham, Mold, Ramsgate, and Woking among those affected from April 28. Whitehaven, Ormskirk, Leighton Buzzard, and Wilmslow are also scheduled to close early next year. This decision comes amid the bank's efforts to shift services online as customers increasingly opt for digital platforms over store visits.
