This inspired Conan Doyle to write the Sherlock Holmes story The Dancing Men.
In the story Holmes and Watson are called to Norfolk by Hilton Cubitt, a local squire, to investigate a mystery.
Holmes eventually solves the case by cracking a code which consists of little dancing figures.
The pub, a listed building, has a blue plaque marking the association and it also inspired the name of the Dancing Men brewery.
