Fischer Farms grows leafy greens on stacked trays within biosecure, climate-controlled growing tunnels at its state-of-the-art facility at the Food Enterprise Park (FEP) at Easton.
Its salad leaves and pea shoots are now being sold directly to consumers under the firm's New Eden brand, which has been launched on Ocado, the online grocery retailer.
Fischer Farms said New Eden’s debut on Ocado represents a "major milestone" for this growing method as it "brings vertically-farmed produce to market at scale".
Commercial director Jon Cummings said: “New Eden is about creating a better future for fresh produce - food that is good for people, planet and palates.
Launching on Ocado is an exciting step in bringing this new approach directly to consumers.”The launch introduces three New Eden salad bags to Ocado customers, including Burger Lettuce, Zesty Mixed Salad and Pea Shoot Salad.
