It is part of a wider strategy set three years ago to build 300GW of offshore wind in the North Sea by 2050. "The North Sea remains one of the UK’s most important strategic energy assets - not only for its resources but for the depth of skills, experience and supply-chain capability it supports," he said. "This board presents a real opportunity to bring industry, government and communities together to take a genuinely integrated approach to the energy transition - one that is pragmatic, investable and delivers long-term value.
