ST. PAUL — U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar will run for Minnesota governor in 2026. Klobuchar officially announced her candidacy on Thursday, Jan 29, in a news release and video announcement. “In these moments of enormous difficulty, we find strength in our Minnesota values of hard work, freedom, and simple decency and good will," Klobuchar said. If successful in her bid for governor, Klobuchar would appoint a temporary senator to fill her seat. If unsuccessful, she would be able to retain her U.S. Senate seat as her term doesn't end until 2031.
