Arkansas hunters have until Feb. 15 to apply for managed turkey hunts
[]
KTLO
Hunters have until 11:59 p.m. Feb. 15 to apply for a chance at one of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s managed permit-only turkey hunts on select wildlife management areas (WMAs) this spring.
While turkey hunting is open to all during the season on many WMAs, some locations require permits to maintain hunt quality.
Drawings for WMA turkey hunt permits will be held Feb. 17, with successful applicants notified by Feb. 18.
All hunters must carry a valid Arkansas hunting license and the appropriate turkey tag: Nonresident Turkey Permit ($100), Resident Turkey Tag (free), Nonresident Youth Turkey Tag (free), or Resident Youth Turkey Tag (free).
A full list of available permits and odds of drawing each hunt is available at www.agfc.com/en/hunting/turkey/turkeypermits.
