Arkansas State nearly erased a double-digit deficit but came up short in a 75-71 loss to Old Dominion on Wednesday night inside First National Bank Arena. Arkansas State shot 41.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range, while holding a 42-33 advantage on the glass and outscoring Old Dominion 26-9 in bench points. Arkansas State closed the gap late, but a half-court buzzer-beater by Old Dominion sent the Red Wolves into halftime trailing 38-33. Old Dominion pushed the lead to double digits early in the second half before Arkansas State mounted its comeback. Arkansas State will look to rebound Saturday when it hosts Marshall at 2 p.m.
