The Cave, which is located at 38 New Street, will be transformed into serviced apartments after planning permission was granted by Renfrewshire Council. The scheme is part of a wider vision to link the building with the adjacent 40-42 New Street, which already has planning approval for 11 units. Both properties are owned by the same applicant, who intends to combine them into a larger, unified serviced accommodation offering. Council officers said: "The proposal would provide visitors to Paisley with somewhere to stay, helping to boost footfall in the wider centre." The Cave’s closure was announced on social media last August and the venue welcomed punters for the final time in mid-September.
