MT Newswires -ShutterstockCiting modest inflation and an outlook for moderate economic expansion, Singapore's central bank kept its policy levers unchanged on Thursday.
When seeking to tame down inflation, the MAS will seek a higher exchange rate for the Singapore dollar; for easing it targets a lower exchange rate.
But on Thursday, MAS said it is generally satisfied with the exchange rate of the Singapore dollar.
"MAS will therefore maintain the prevailing rate of appreciation of the S$NEER (Singapore Dollar Nominal Effective Exchange Rate) policy band.
There will be no change to its width and the level at which it is centered," said the central bank.
