LEEDS RHINOS star Max Simpson has suffered an ACL injury that will require surgery and that will rule him out for the entire 2026 Super League season. It’s the third serious injury of Simpson’s career, with the 21-year-old suffering the problem during Leeds’ win over Bradford Bulls in Cameron Smith’s testimonial game. Elsewhere, scans have confirmed that forward James McDonnell has an ankle syndesmosis injury that will rule him out for 4-6 weeks. Scans and a specialist have confirmed no serious injury with Handley set to be sidelined for two weeks to recover. He will be available for the opening round of the Super League season.
