Craig Squires was part of a group who targeted a 42-year-old victim who had parked his electric e-scooter on Mill Road, Cambridge, at around 4.35pm on July 24. Squires and the group approached the victim and shoed an interest in the e-scooter, but the victim could sense their intentions and partially locked the e-scooter and began to walk away. Moments later one of the men attempted to tamper with the lock and when the victim returned to intervene, the group surrounded him. The incident was interrupted when a passing couple began filming the assault, causing the group to disperse. Squires, of New Street, Cambridge, was jailed to two years and six months in prison after pleading guilty to attempted robbery.
