Taj-parent Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) is bringing Brij Hospitality into its fold, taking a majority stake in the boutique hotel chain as part of its broader push into smaller, leisure-focused markets. Earlier this month, IHCL said that it would be acquiring a 51% controlling stake in Brij Hospitality. The development comes after IHCL acquired Brij Hospitality’s sister concerns ANK Hotels and Pride Hospitality last August. At that time, IHCL also signed a marketing and distribution agreement with Brij Hospitality. Brij Co-Founder Udit Kumar told Skift that he is hopeful that the acquisition will be completed within the next 30 days.
