Oppo, treading dangerously close to Tesla’s ‘S3XY’ naming scheme, announced the Oppo Watch S was headed for South Africa at the Reno 15 launch in Johannesburg yesterday.
The watch, which Oppo brags about being an “ultra-thin” solution at only 8.99mm thick, beats out its still-thin Watch X2 sibling by several millimetres.
The price, too, is still under wraps, though the company mentioned it would come in below the Watch X2, which launched in 2025 for R7,000.
The Watch S is available in two colours: Phantom Black and Silver Gleam, though South Africans will only be privy to the latter when it turns up.
Buyers can expect to pay less than R7,000 for the smartwatch, which is due to arrive roughly a week after the Oppo Reno 15 series lands on 7 February.
