The conference Newton athletes will be competing in after the next two years will be determined after information has been gathered from multiple sources, according to Newton Superintendent Tom Messinger. The Cardinals’ continued presence in the Little Hawkeye Conference has been a topic of discussion since Pella school officials decided to accept an invitation to join the Raccoon River Conference in two years. I believe we owe that to our community, and to our kids and families.”The Newton Superintendent notes some conferences do not have certain activities, such as an art festival or an honor choir.
