The Norwalk girls wrestling team will compete at the Class 2A Region 2 Meet on Friday night, the region’s state qualifying meet. The top 16 qualifiers from each weight class will advance to the state tournament, which takes place February 6th and 7th at Xtream Arena in Coralville. Most recently, the Norwalk girls wrestlers placed fifth out of 19 teams at Saturday’s Colfax-Mingo tournament. Katelynne Liedtke was the sole representative of the Norwalk girls in last year’s state tournament. Norwalk head coach Alanah Vetterick tells KNIA Sports the team’s tough bracket is not their worry.
