The vote today (29th January) by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), seeking to impose ideological compliance with a trans-European transgender agenda (AM 28 Jan), draws attention to this obscure body – little reported by the UK media and with little awareness by the UK public. While there is much political and media focus on the prospect of withdrawing from the ECHR and the potential implications of this, there seems to be little focus by the media on its parent, the Council of Europe, or its Parliamentary Assembly. The PACE website reveals that there are 18 UK parliamentary representatives (and a further 18 substitutes), all MPs and Peers across the parties; and that the PACE meets in week-long sessions, four times per year, in Strasbourg. And are they acting in the best interests of the United Kingdom? Surely there should be more reporting of this.
