A record-breaking run for commodities was not enough to lift the ASX as banks and technology stocks weighed against the market. Camera Icon Mining and energy stocks offset falls from banks and technology shares. Deep Yellow shares soared 12.36 per cent to $2.91, NexGen Energy jumped 5.40 per cent to $19.52 and Paladin Energy closed up 1.43 per cent to $14.14. Lynas shares fell 3.70 per cent to $15.60 and Iluka Resources slumped 14.09 per cent to $5.55. AMP shares fell 4.64 per cent to $1.64 after company announced changes to its cost allocation and cost-to-income methodology.
