Proponents of artificial intelligence (AI) love to come out with alarming predictions, such as that humans will become redundant and very soon all but a tiny sliver of jobs will be performed by machines or computers. The human race, apparently, is facing extinction (not including AI gurus, of course). Transhumanism, a hybrid of humans and machines, will appear. It is actually a sly marketing ploy, marketing being essential to profiting from this new technology (which it turns out is not so new, there is just more processing power). That is why there are no details about how exactly these crises are supposed to happen.
