New Ceramics Club: An Artistic Way to De-stress
['Nadia Castillo']
The Volante
Fortunately for students and everyone in the community, SodaC, the new ceramics club, has opened its doors for anyone who wants to dive into a world of creativity.
And I think because the medium is just endlessly recyclable, it’s a very low-stakes way to experiment with art,” Ruby Gray, a sophomore majoring in Ceramics and the president of the club, said.
SodaC started as a fun idea between Gray and Assistant Professor of Ceramics in the Art Department, Jinsik Yoo, who later became the club’s advisor.
The mission of SodaC is to give students the opportunity to explore ceramics and provide an alternative to the three-hour course offered by the university.
For people interested in joining, the club meets every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in room 170 of the Warren M. Lee Center for Fine Arts.
