The Bihar government announced plans to build district-level Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Centres (ERF-TCs) in 20 more districts.
Bihar govt planned to set up Disaster Training Centres in 20 districtsAt a press conference at SuchnaBhawan in Patna on Wednesday, Mohammad NadimulGaffarSiddiqui, the Joint Secretary of the Disaster Management Department, mentioned that these centres would ensure faster responses during floods, cold waves, and other emergencies.
Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are already at the completed facilities.
Of the 100 planned shelters in 10 flood-prone districts in Bihar, 96 have already been completed, with the rest expected soon.
The department has also raised financial aid for flood-affected families, increasing ex-gratia relief from Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000.
