Qatar’s 2026 Years of Culture with Mexico: Here’s What to Expect

Qatar has unveiled an initial programme for its 2026 Years of Culture partnership with Mexico, setting out a year-long slate of cultural exchanges spanning gastronomy, design, film, education, and public art.
The initiative will see leading Mexican chefs, designers, and artists participate in events across Qatar, while Qatari culture will be presented to audiences in Mexico.
HE Mohammed Al Kuwari, Years of Culture Advisor on Latin America and Qatar’s former Ambassador to Mexico, said the initiative focuses on building sustained relationships rather than one-off events.
‘Collaboration does not begin or end within a single calendar year,’ he said, adding that projects presented during Mexico Design Week are expected to have a lasting impact in both countries.
More details on the 2026 Years of Culture Qatar–Mexico programme will be announced in the coming months.
