Uisce Éireann has issued a Boil Water Notice for the Newport Public Water Supply in County Tipperary. This notice is being issued due to a deterioration in raw water quality following extensive and heavy rainfall affecting the treatment process at the plant. Customers impacted include those in Newport town and surrounding areas, Birdhill, Ballina, Gortybrigane, Ballinahinch, Killoscully and approximately 8,000 customers are affected by the Boil Water Notice. Customers can check if their property is included by visiting www.water.ie and entering the property’s Eircode or by calling the Uisce Éireann customer care helpline, open 24/7, on 1800 278 278. Uisce Eireann says staff are working to lift the notice as quickly and as safely as possible, in consultation with the HSE.
