A Judicial Review Case is to proceed in the High Court in Dublin today on behalf of Tipperary man Sean Meehan. Mr Meehan was admitted to the Coronary Care unit of Tipperary University Hospital Clonmel yesterday after his GP ordered an ambulance to the surgery after giving Mr Meehan an ECG. The Judicial Review case is challenging the refusal by Tipperary county Council to grant planning permission for Mr Meehan’s home. Mr Meehan contends that his application was similar to another application that was approved by the council. A lower Court has sentenced Mr Meehan to prison and imposed a fine for failing to remove the structure as it is considered unauthorised development – Mr Meehan is appealing this sentence which is on hold until the Judicial Review case is finalised.
