US President Donald Trump has been mulling over another major military strike on Iran in the wake of failed talks between Washington and Tehran on curbing Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missile production, CNN reported.
Trump amplified the pressure on Wednesday in a post on Truth Social, calling on Iran to return to negotiations for “a fair and equitable deal—NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS.” He warned that any future US strike “will be far worse” than last summer’s attack, when US forces bombed three Iranian nuclear sites near Tehran.
The tone highlights a sharp shift in the administration’s public posture toward Iran and comes weeks after Trump weighed military action he framed as supportive of nationwide protests in Iran that security forces later crushed, an irony not lost on Americans as federal agents kill American citizens in the streets.
Tehran reacted angrily to the renewed threat.
Iranian officials warned of an immediate response to any US attack, and a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Iran would target Israel if Washington launched military action against Iran.
