Every Super Bowl has included at least one alumnus from the historic high school football all-star game. According to Big 33 records, the streak started with Philadelphia native Herb Adderley playing in Super Bowl I as a member of the Green Bay Packers. Woods (Northwest) kept the Big 33’s Super Bowl streak alive, while the San Francisco 49ers’ Kevin Givens (Altoona) was the only player in 2024. This is the third time in five years that only one player on the Super Bowl rosters had Big 33 roots.
