Suhail Afridi, a chief minister in the northwest Pakistan and a prominent member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, said he was trying to meet with Khan in prison. He said: “The very first question is: how did his health deteriorate to the point that he had to be transferred to the hospital? Khan's party remains in opposition in parliament and he continues to command significant popular support across the country.
