Franklin County Commissioners are looking at putting a T-SPLOST question on the November ballot. A TSPLOST (Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) is a voter-approved 1% sales tax in Georgia used exclusively to fund transportation infrastructure projects. Additionally, a TSPLOST allows local governments to address traffic congestion and infrastructure needs without solely relying on property taxes or existing budget funds. During the discussion, questions arose as to how to put a TSPLOST question or referendum on the November ballot. But County Attorney Ken Jarrard said that would not work to get the question on the ballot.
