An Asian pop-up food market will return to Kolding in early February, offering local residents access to Asian groceries and kitchenware usually found only in Denmark’s larger cities.
AsiaTorvet, a mobile Asian food retailer, will open a temporary shop in Kolding from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 February at Det Gamle Posthus on Mazantigade.
According to the organisers, the concept was created to bring Asian food products closer to people living outside major urban centres such as Copenhagen and Aarhus.
“Our experience is that many customers miss access to basic Asian ingredients in smaller towns,” the company says.
The organisers note that Asian cuisine continues to grow in popularity in Denmark, driven by its emphasis on vegetables, lighter cooking styles and online food inspiration.
