The Swedish retailer’s Aberdeen store has also announced a clearance sale before moving into the former Decathlon unit at Union Square this spring. The opening date for the Union Square store has yet to be announced. The previous Wellington Circle store was an Order and Collection Point, while the new store will use Ikea’s updated Plan and Order Point format. The move to Union Square has divided opinion, as the new store will be smaller and won’t be a full-size Ikea compared to Edinburgh or Glasgow. Customers will be able to park for free for 20 minutes, which is standard for Union Square.
