Family of child receiving palliative care flee home after "sectarian" attackThe family, who have lived in the area for four years, are now staying with relatives while they try to move their belongings out and find somewhere else to live. ‌The attack followed a series of intimidating incidents stretching back to before Christmas, escalating in recent days with verbal abuse, threats and suspicious behaviour outside the family home. ‌“My eldest boy, he’s five and he’s palliative care, so he’s actually on oxygen at nighttime, so our fear is if that house went up in flames. This family simply wanted to live their lives in peace and should never have been targeted in this way. ‌“I have contacted the family to offer my support and to make clear that those responsible do not represent this community.
